Michael Pierre was a positive feature on the Rustlers football team during the 2011 season, utilizing his skills as a running back to assist the team to victory on several occasions.

He found the end zone in each of the last five games of the season and finished the year with a team leading 730 yards rushing.

Pierre is a 21-year old sophomore from FL who said he’s always had a love for football since he was a kid. He chose Golden West College because of the strong athletic department and the courses offered.

He plans to obtain an AA in human behavior and is looking forward to someday working in the sports field, although he is unsure at this time exactly what he wants to do.  He is focused on his studies and working in the game room in the student center, but he likes taking time to relax by playing video games with friends.

Currently he is contemplating his future as a football player as he is juggling multiple potential offers from several universities: including Texas Tech toward which his leaning, California, San Jose State, New Mexico State, and Utah. His brother, Ronald Pierre, just finished his time as a linebacker at GWC and is also preparing to transfer to play football at a higher level.

Set to graduate in December, Pierre will remember his time at Golden West fondly. “I am glad we won the Bowl and I think we showed how strong our team is,” Pierre said. “I’ll miss the school but I’m excited about where I’m headed next and I just hope I can continue playing ball.”
