The Golden West men’s soccer team is getting closer the end of its season. So far the Rustlers have done very well with a record of 12-1-3 overall and 8-0-1 in the Orange Empire conference. GWC traveled to conference rivals Norco College on Friday, Oct. 26 at 3 p.m. and defeated the Mustangs 2-0.

Golden West hosted Norco on Oct. 2, and sent them home with a 5-0 lost. The green and gold took the series 2-0.

Forward Nathan DaRosa and midfielder Brian De La Rosa, both freshmen, made sure the green and gold kept the winning streak alive, by scoring the only goals. The Rustlers haven’t lost a game since Thursday, Sept. 6.

It was a good game, we were hoping to beat them again. This season has been good and we have to maintain it like that ‘till the end,” said defensive player Todd Locken. “The next upcoming teams we have beat, now we just have to play the same way or harder to continue winning.”

The team hosted division rivals the Orange Coast Pirates, Tuesday, Oct. 30 at 5 p.m. GWC beat OCC by the score of 3-1, on Friday, Oct. 5.

The team will travel to Irvine Valley College on Friday, Nov. 2 at 3 p.m. The last time these two teams played Golden West won by the score of 2-1.
