College Preview Day went off without a hitch or weather problems in the central quad at Golden West College on March 3.
This event combined both the College Preview, where area high school students tour GWC, as well as the Club Rush Day, during which current students were able to take an initial look at the various clubs and services on campus.
Visiting high school pupils got a look at campus facilities as well as a view of activities, and a free lunch.
The Associated Students of Golden West College provided free hot dogs, chips, and a soda to those with a current student ID. They also hosted games with prizes for those who wanted to participate. Visiting high schoolers also got the meal as well as a free entry in a raffle to win an iPod music player.
Live entertainment was provided by the band Those Guys. GWC President Wes Bryan also got into the act showing off his hula hoop skills.
This was the largest attended Preview/ Club Rush Day in recent history with over 1550 in attendance, according to the Student Activities office. That included 950 high school students and 600 college students.
