I want a greasy cheeseburger, French fries, and a Coke. Do not look down on me because I am not eating a salad or some kind of vegetable.
This is the fast food nation, is it not?
It seems to me that more and more people are turning vegetarian, vegan, or just eating healthier. There really is no problem with that as long as I can still get my greasy cheeseburger. Unfortunately more and more places are changing the way they make their food so that it is healthier for me.
I do not want my food to be better for me unless they can do it without changing the taste. I have watched as McDonalds, Burger King, Jack in the Box, and others have switched their fries to something more healthy and much less tasty. Health issues are real issues, but I would rather have the choice.
Lawsuits blaming fast food places for making someone fat seems kind of silly to me. To me a lawsuit like that is just another way for people to put the blame on someone else rather then looking in the mirror. If I choose to eat something that is dripping in greasy deliciousness I am making a choice.
Like many other things in this wonderful world we live in, the choices are being made for us. A few overzealous people trying to take away our freedoms one by one. The needs of the few are now seemingly out weighing the needs of the many.
The concern is why are the many not standing up for themselves. This issue goes beyond the actual desire to have a palette-pleasing food item, it goes to the heart of American people and our way of life.
We fight for the right to choose. Men and women have died fighting for our right to freedom. This freedom is suppose to be our foundation and I for one would hate to see us keep handing over every little choice to someone
