“Money ball” is based off the book written by Michael Lewis, and directed by Bennett Miler, whose previous works include “Capote”(2005.)

The movie is an inspirational true-story of how Peter Brand (Jonah Hill), a low worker from the Cleveland Indians, helped general manager Billy Beane (Brad Pitt), of the Oakland A’s, invent a new philosophy of baseball in the off-season of 2002.

Their new philosphy changed the game of baseball, and helped the Red Sox win the world series in 2004. Other major teams drafted, and picked up on “on-base percentage”, and “slugging percentage.”

Pitt did a great job of getting down Beane’s emotions and love of the game and he was in the correct mindset. The audience could just feel all the frustrations, upheavals, and unfairness of the game in the Oakland nation. Something about the movie just gets your attention from the start, and can feel the emotions of the coaches and the fans.
